Kit Thomas
Senior Producer

Oscar-nominated American producer/director Kit Thomas is a passionate media change-agent. His inspiring documentary films and television specials have been translated into many languages and have been licensed for broadcast and classroom distribution in over fifty countries.

Kit’s body of work has garnered many awards including multiple Emmys, Cindys, CINE Golden Eagles, and an Oscar nomination for his film, Burning Down Tomorrow, which was commissioned by rock musician Sting to raise awareness about the global rainforest crisis. He co-produced the award-winning ECO (Earth Communication Office) PSA campaign which was adopted by the United Nations Environment Program and, according to a Pepperdine University study, has been seen by over one billion people, a world record for public service announcements. He was selected by the U.N. to co-produce their official 50th Anniversary film, A Place To Stand, which was translated into many languages and remains one of the U.N.'s most requested films.

As a record producer, Kit’s credits include over fifty CD’s of jazz, pop, and world music. He has been an active member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) since 1985, serving eight years on the Board of Governors, and twenty-six years as Chairman of a national screening committee for the Grammy Awards.

Equally passionate about cultural and philosophical bridge building, he co-founded the Common Ground Interfaith Fellowship in Philadelphia in 2002. As its executive director for five years, Kit hosted monthly interfaith gatherings with inspirational speakers and authors representing diverse perspectives on the universal principles that inform the world’s religions and spiritual traditions.

In 2012 Kit founded the Circle of Wisdom Media Alliance, a non-profit collective of media professionals, authors, teachers, publishers and indigenous elders working together to provide centralized access to transformational wisdom from around the world. To date, Kit has conducted over two hundred video interviews with evolutionary thought leaders and contemporary wisdom-keepers for the Circle of Wisdom’s Living Library project
